Stated in the book children in more affluent areas receive a better education than children living in poor communities.(p.580) I can say that this statement is very true. When I went to a Chicago Public School there were barely enough text books for the whole class and there was sometimes too many students in one class room so if they are trying to get that one on one interaction with your teacher it's probably not going to happen. Where as schools in more affluent areas you get better education, computers, and better interaction with teachers. Going to a school in a non affluent area has its pros and cons, schools of minorities have less benefits than whites do. For example, kids in the suburbs have freed transportation to school (bus) where the inner city kids have to pay fare to get on the bus to get to school. Why cant there be school buses for kids in the inner city as well? Kids in the inner city don't have the technology as the kids in the suburbs due to less income from the state or city.
