Homosexuality In Music

In music, homosexuality has been going in since the beginning of time. There are plenty of undercover musicians. Many of them are "in the closet" but some are openly gay. One of the first openly gay artist is Elton John. Elton John has been cited by saying that it took him so long to come because he was bullied for it early on. " Even though i was famous and a big deal, it don't matter, it's who you are underneath that, and i was always kind of shy and intimidated....One was violent and the other  were mentally violent". This is a quote from Elton John. This resembles how he did not know who to turn to about being homosexual. Elton John was afraid to come out because he was worried about what the media would say. One half of him was violent to others while he was violet to himself. As learned in sociology, gender and sexuality plays a very big part in todays society. Sexuality is a very important in the ranking in society. Many people are keep sepearted and discrimnated against because of sexual preferences. Homosexuality is something still not accepted in the world today.

Another homosexual rock musician was Freddy Mercury. He is the lead singer of the band Queen. Queen is consider one of the best rock bands of all time. Instead of being openly gay, he was "in the closet". He was scared to come out because he did not want people to see him or his music differently. He fault people were not going to take his music serious. Throughout his career, he talked to many men. His band members did not know he was gay. Freddy Mercury was good at hiding it. I do not know how he kept the world from finding out he was not gay. Freddy Mercury ended up dying from HIV/AIDS in 1986 from having sex with a male. As he was passing away, he admitted he was gay to the world. Despite his sexual orientation, he is considered one of the greatest lead singers of all time.

In 2014, a rapper named Young Thug had everyone talking. He posted a picture of him wearing a dress and he had nail polish on his finger nails painted. This picture had everyone talking. I believe that he isn't gay but he is doing this for attention. He also calls his best friends "hubbie", "lover", and "bae". He says that this is just the language he uses when talking with his friends. I honestly think he does this to create attention for his music. Homosexuality have been going on in the music insdustry for years. Many artist do not admit they are gay but there it is still going on. I always wonder which music artist are homosexual? I think that people need to leave homosexuals alone and let them be. It does not matter what gender you like. If you make good music it shouldn't matter what sexual orientation you are.
