Are men and women equal in terms of Gender?

When it comes to gender, are men and women equal? Men and women have been known to be equal in today’s society, but are they both equal in the eyes of others. Even in other societies, women aren’t treated equally which isn’t really a big surprise. Other societies put women lower down in the chain to where they have no rights. Women are known to make seventy five cents to every dollar a man makes. TO me this isn’t personally fair because women can be just as hard workers as men. Women aren’t actually treated equally as men are.

I can personally relate to this because both my parents work hard jobs, but one makes more than the other. My mother significantly makes less money than my father. Although they work different jobs in different companies, they virtually do the same thing. Now why they have a big difference in pay is probably because of experience and seniority. Both their skills are the same, except my father knows a little more. Seeing how women are treated in the world because of their gender is quite disturbing. Women have been known to either work harder or the same as men so what causes companies to give them less pay? My mother is a hard worker that always shows up to work but yet she doesn't get the pay she deserves. Even in other places are women not treated correctly. When a rape occurs, everyone would assume that the woman has done something to deserve what the man has done. In most cases, women have done nothing and it was the man who did all of the work by their lonesome. Now what makes everything upsetting is that even though all this is occurring, no one is doing anything to attempt to equal women’s rights. Women are standing out and attempting to show their anger, but it hasn’t really been a national dilemma. This topic relates to the chapter we read because all these events are still occurring to this day. Equality in gender is important because women are able to do things men aren’t and vice versa. When the nation sees the problem that is occurring, more will band together and equality for all will be accomplished.
