Inequality and sexism

In chapter 13 we talked about gender and inequality and in this chapter we ran across the word sexism. Sexism is when you think of a specific thing and you believe that this gender is the only gender that is suppose to do that task. For example, when you think of kitchen which gender do you think of first that would be in a kitchen? A woman right! That is what you call stereotyping as well



Also, they are saying that girls are distractions just based of a shirt that does not have long sleeves or her shorts that are showing the thighs. Society has made the people believe that woman are suppose to wear certain kind of clothes or else they will be called a slut or whore because women are showing their skin to every man and those men most likely fantasizes about that lady just because her shoulder is showing. Why is it that women have less priveledge than men? If it wasn't for the women to give them life, men should be praising women because without women they would not be alive to have such "dominance". This is truly sexism for people to believe that it is the right for men to be the most dominant especially a white man. Men are more likely to get paid more than women because in ancient history they believed that women should be at home with the kids, taking care of the house, etc. Things that women go through I do not believe a man can handle. It might be a man's world, but it would be nothing without a woman! -James Brown
